Debutant Ahaan Panday showers praise on co-star Aneet Padda as Mohit Suri’s much-anticipated musical romance Saiyaara hits theatres nationwide.
As Mohit Suri’s romantic musical Saiyaara opened in theatres on Friday, lead actor Ahaan Panday took a moment to share a touching appreciation post for his co-star Aneet Padda. The film, which marks the Bollywood debut of both Ahaan and Aneet, has already created a buzz with strong advance bookings and positive initial reviews.
To mark the occasion, Ahaan posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, accompanied by a picture of Aneet joyfully pointing to a billboard of Saiyaara. In his emotional caption, he wrote,
“To the girl in the yellow dress with the universe in her eyes… we have a new star up there now. You’ve made mumma and papa Padda so proud, and you did it all by yourself.”
The post continued with even more admiration for Aneet’s presence and influence:
“I hope you’re ready for the world to fall in love with you the way we all did. Thank you for the lessons and for the mentorship, even if you didn’t know you were doing it. Thank you, senior – thank you starry eyed girl.”
The warm note quickly garnered attention, with Ahaan’s mother, Deanne Panday, commenting, “Love you both, God bless you & congratulations.”
Fans, too, were quick to express their affection for the duo. Social media users flooded the comments section with praise for the on-screen chemistry between Ahaan and Aneet. One user wrote, “Your chemistry is amazing. I’ve seen such a beautiful movie after so long,” while another gushed, “Starry eyed girl… that’s such a sweet thing to say!” One curious fan added, “TELL ME THEY ARE DATING,” and another shared, “Just watched the movie, and I’m never getting over you both.”
Earlier this week, Ahaan had also dedicated a moving tribute to director Mohit Suri, expressing how deeply Suri’s films shaped his childhood.
“You might’ve met me a year ago, but the truth is, I met you long before that. I met you through the stereo system in my car, with my grandmother, when we’d go pick up cassettes of every one of your films,” he wrote.
He reminisced about watching Aashiqui 2 with his mother and sister, translating every line for his mom, and later creating dubsmash videos with Suri’s music.
“Mohit Suri, you defined my childhood in ways you couldn’t imagine. And maybe somewhere, in some universe, my grandmother is buying a cassette of Saiyaara today,” he added.
Backed by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara is a romantic musical that tells the story of two lovers battling emotional highs and lows as they strive to protect their fragile yet intense bond. The film marks a significant launchpad for Ahaan Panday, cousin of actress Ananya Panday, and newcomer Aneet Padda.
With a promising opening and glowing early reactions, Saiyaara is already shaping up to be one of the most memorable debut vehicles for Bollywood’s fresh talent.
